Surprises because it is unexpected
The municipalities at the foot of Bisalta are the ideal place for walking, cycling, horseback riding which reserve unexpected surprises often hidden in the woods or along the ancient communication routes, today mostly quiet country lanes where you can meet the remains of ancient medieval castles and watchtowers, country chapels and churches that preserve valuable frescoes or sanctuaries dedicated to the Marian cult or sites in scenic areas.

In small towns you can visit museum rooms dedicated to minor historical figures, typical craft productions or small ethnographic museums that tell about the peasant and mountain life. You can follow thematic itineraries to discover Carthusian houses and churches, fountains, ancient mills and votive pylons or retrace the partisan paths towards the symbolic places of the Resistance.

Language holds surprises as well - we are in fact at the borders of the Occitan linguistic area, the ancient language of troubadours. Here Piedmontese and Occitan mix with often very original results that are found in toponyms, nursery rhymes, idioms and tongue twisters.
